Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Pat the chuck roast dry with paper towels, rub with olive oil, and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Sear the seasoned roast on medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden-brown (optional).
  3. Place the roast into the Crockpot.
  4. Combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce in a bowl, whisk together, and pour over the roast.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
  6. Remove the beef, let it rest for 5 minutes, then shred into pieces and return to the broth.
  7. Slice open hoagie rolls and optionally melt provolone cheese under a broiler.
  8. Assemble sandwiches with shredded beef, allowing au jus to drip in, and serve with a bowl of au jus.
