Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Hawaiian Roll French Toast
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 4 large eggs and 1 cup of half and half until thoroughly blended. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, and a pinch of salt. Continue whisking until the mixture is smooth.
  2. Carefully poke a few holes in the bottom of each roll using a fork. Arrange the rolls in a shallow dish, ready for soaking.
  3. Dip each roll into the custard mixture for about 30 seconds, turning gently to coat all sides evenly. Place the rolls aside on a plate while you heat the skillet.
  4. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, carefully place the soaked rolls into the skillet. Cook for 30 to 60 seconds on each side until golden brown.
  5. Remove the rolls from the skillet and transfer them to a serving plate. Dust with powdered sugar and top with fresh fruits and drizzle with maple syrup.
