- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly coat a 9x6 or 9x11 deep baking dish with cooking spray.
- Tear the croissants in half and arrange them cut-side up in the prepared baking dish.
- Cut the ham into thirds and nestle the pieces around the croissant halves.
- Sprinkle shredded Swiss or Gruyere cheese over the top.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, half and half or milk, Dijon mustard, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissant and ham layers in the baking dish.
- Cover the dish and place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or overnight.
- Remove from refrigerator, cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the top is golden brown.
- Allow the casserole to rest for 5 minutes before cutting and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
