- Pour the soaking mixture over the warm cake to ensure it seeps in.
- Chill the cake in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes to set the soaking mixture.
- Spread the whipped topping evenly over the cake, then sprinkle with pecans and chocolate chips.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
