Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Gather your ingredients including frozen Mrs. T’s Cheddar Pierogies, sliced kielbasa, chicken broth, cream cheese, and shredded cheddar. In a 4 to 6-quart crockpot, combine 3 cups of chicken broth, 24 ounces of frozen pierogies, and the sliced kielbasa. Stir gently to ensure the pierogies are evenly distributed and submerged in the liquid.
  2. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the mixture in the crockpot, layering it evenly. Set the crockpot to cook on high for 3 hours or low for 6 hours.
  3. In a small saucepan over low heat, warm 1 cup of cream cheese along with ½ cup of broth from the crockpot, whisking until smooth. Pour this creamy mixture into the crockpot, gently folding it into the casserole.
  4. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top, letting it melt as the casserole finishes cooking for another 30 minutes.
  5. When done, stir the casserole, check for any remaining liquid and serve. Optionally garnish with sliced green onions.
