  • 1 tbsp Lemon Pepper Seasoning Store-bought or homemade.
  • 1 tbsp Fine Kosher Salt Adjust for saltiness if substituting.
For Frying
  • 1 cup Neutral Oil (Canola or Sunflower) Essential for shallow frying.
For the Hot Honey Lemon Pepper Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Honey Agave can be substituted.
  • 2 tbsp Hot Sauce Choose your favorite brand.
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice Freshly squeezed for best flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Flakes Adjust to spice preference.
  • 2 tbsp Butter Omit for dairy-free version.
For Garnish
  • 2 tbsp Scallions or Chives Optional for freshness.

Method
 

Sauce Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine honey, butter, hot sauce, lemon juice, lemon pepper seasoning, and chili flakes. Heat over medium flame, stirring frequently for 3-4 minutes until thickened and glossy.
  2. Taste and adjust seasoning before setting the sauce aside.
Shrimp Preparation
  1. Dry shrimp thoroughly with paper towels. In a large zip-top bag, mix cornstarch, lemon pepper seasoning, and salt. Add shrimp, seal, and shake to coat evenly.
Frying Shrimp
  1. Heat 1 inch of neutral oil in a large skillet to 375°F (190°C). Fry shrimp in batches for 90 seconds per side until golden brown. Drain on a wire rack.
Coating with Sauce
  1. Transfer fried shrimp to a large mixing bowl, pour hot honey lemon pepper sauce over, and toss gently to coat. Garnish with lemon zest and scallions or chives before serving.
